WESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — The West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals recently ruled that Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital’s plan for a new facility near Interstate 79 in Weston will require a Certificate of Need (CON) to proceed.

The ruling reverses previous approvals by both the West Virginia Health Care Authority — which oversees CON decisions — and the West Virginia Intermediate Court of Appeals.

Despite this decision, there are no plans to abandon the project, said David Goldberg, president and CEO of Mon Health and Davis Health Systems and executive vice president of Vandalia Health.
