Scots primary pupils were rushed inside as police raced to the area following reports of a "person with a weapon nearby".
A concerning call was made to police and staff at Windygoul Primary School in Tranent about a person possibly being in possession of a weapon on the nearby Moffat Walk at around 3.40pm on Monday, November 24.
Officers carried out a search as children attending the after school club and nursery were also brought inside to play, as a precaution .
An email, seen by Edinburgh Live , was also sent to parents informing them of the decision to bring children inside due to a police incident. It is understood parents and carers were still able to collect their children during this period.
