ATHENS, Ga. — A University of Georgia football player was dismissed from the team after a police chase arrest on Sunday, coach Kirby Smart said.
Daniels is facing felony charges, including fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and two counts of second-degree cruelty to children.
He is alleged in unofficial police reports to have been going 100 mph in a 25 mph zone, leading to a chase on Sunday. At one point, he allegedly reached 150 mph on I-85. He was charged with child cruelty because his younger siblings were in the car, a 2022 white BMW M5, according to a police incident report.
"I have not had a chance to talk to him (Nyier) or his family, but obviously he'll no longer be with us," Smart said Monday. Credit: Commerce Police Department The BMW driven by Nyier Dani
