(KRON) -- California Gov. Gavin Newsom's office put out an update Tuesday reaffirming that vaccines are not linked to autism. The move comes after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its website to include the long-debunked claim that there is a link between the two.
The update from Newsom's office included a statement from the West Coast Health Alliance, which in addition to California, includes Oregon, Washington and Hawaii.
The CDC, the statement says, "headed by vaccine-skeptic Robert F. Kennedy Jr. -- incorrectly updated its website to suggest, without scientific evidence, a casual link between vaccines and autism."
