A person has been airlifted to hospital after a crash between a vehicle and a cyclist in North Yorkshire.

Emergency services were called to Darlington Road, between Richmond and Skeeby, today (November 25) at around 2.50pm, following reports of a collision.

Two air ambulances, police vehicles and a road ambulance were sent to the scene, and the road was closed for several hours.

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) confirmed that a person was taken to hospital via air ambulance.

A spokesperson for YAS said: "We received an emergency call at 2.50pm on Tuesday to report a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist on Darlington Road between Richmond and Skeeby.
