A man whose arrest by ICE sparked outrage in Northfield earlier this month will be deported to Mexico after an immigration judge ruled that he does not qualify for asylum.

During a hearing on Monday, Adan Nunez Gonzalez said he's afraid to return to his home country because he's been pressured to join a gang, but the judge determined that's not a valid reason for asylum, per MPR News.

The Advocates for Human Rights issued a statement after the hearing, saying: "Adan’s life was decided about in seven minutes.”
