A man who died in an early-hours collision on the Mancunian Way can be named today as Pawel Jakub Marcinkiewicz.
Mr Marcinkiewicz was 25. An inquest into his death last month was opened and adjourned on Tuesday by a coroner sitting at Manchester Coroner's Court. Greater Manchester Police , meanwhile, and the police watchdog, have given updates on the tragedy.
A man was arrested at the scene in the aftermath on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The man, who is aged in his 40s, was released on police bail pending further investigations, a spokesperson for GMP confirmed to the Manchester Evening News.
