A 20-year-old male driver was injured Monday evening when he lost control of his car and struck a utility pole in Upper Saucon Township, township police said.
Township Police Chief Thomas Nicoletti said the single-vehicle accident happened at 9:15 p.m. Monday along Flint Hill Road, just east of the intersection with Forest Drive. The driver was traveling east when he lost control, spun sideways and collided with the utility pole on the opposite side of the road, the chief said.
The driver told investigators his tires were in “poor condition” and he lost traction, Nicoletti said.
Investigators said the driver’s account matches their findings, noting they found tire marks measuring approximately 50 to 60 feet in length leading up to the point of impact.
