SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Savannah leaders are tackling major flooding problems and what it’s gonna cost you.
WTOC visited city hall to learn more about a new fee that could go into place in a matter of months.
This comes right off of the budget retreat where the council crafted and addressed multiple goals. Tuesday those goals were brought up, and at the end the council discussed a stormwater drainage fee.
The user-based fee would be dedicated to creating a dedicated revenue stream for the stormwater system, which currently has no dedicated funding. This was brought up due to increased levels of rain according to the Chief of Water Resources, Ron Feldner.
