PERRY, Ohio (WOIO) - The Perry Joint Fire District was dispatched to the area of Main Street and South Ridge Road Monday evening for a reported smoke check.

According to firefighters a nearby staff vehicle responded to investigate and discovered a house fire in the 4300 block of Main Street.

The first arriving fire officer established command and reported there was heavy smoke and fire could be seen inside the residence.

Firefighters were able to confirm there were no humans inside the home, but two dogs were reported to be inside.

As additional crews made their way into the home, they discovered a partial floor collapse from the second floor into the first.
