CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - The Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico County sheriffs announced they’re teaming up with the State Bureau of Investigation to fight against illegal drugs in eastern North Carolina.
“It’s important for us to go after these drug traffickers. These drug dealers, they know no boundaries,” Pamlico County Sheriff Chris Davis said.
All three sheriffs made the announcement Tuesday morning at the Craven County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriffs say that with this task force, boundaries that used to be a barrier during cross-county investigations, such as jurisdiction, will no longer be an issue.
“Having immediate access to these resources now, like the director said, money, technology, manpower, there’s not going to be a request for that. That’s going to be there every day,”
