Senior captains Colin Monahan and Milo Berkley are excited about what their Mercer Island High School (MIHS) boys basketball team will bring onto the court this season.
The hard-working Islanders will unleash a fast-paced offensive style by moving the ball well and sharing the scoring. On defense, they’ll uncork some intensity while putting on the pressure, diving for loose balls and taking charges.
MIHS will tip off its season on Dec. 1 at home against Snohomish and then follow that game up with another home contest against against Hazen on Dec. 5 before traveling to Juanita for a matchup on Dec. 9.
“We’ll all get a chance to move the ball and we’ll just play unselfishly and not care who’s exactly scoring, but as long as we’re scoring as a team,” said Monahan, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard
