A sleepy week filled with nonconference blowouts locked the College Football Playoff rankings into a near standstill. Ohio State, Indiana, Texas A&M, Georgia and Texas Tech remained the top five teams, while Oregon jumped ahead of Mississippi after its 42-27 victory over USC – one of the few significant changes in Tuesday’s new top 25.
The Ducks are now No. 6, with Mississippi at No. 7 – the only change to the top 10 from a week ago. Oklahoma remains at No. 8, followed by Notre Dame at No. 9, Alabama at No. 10 and BYU at No. 11.
