NORTH CHARLESTON – More than four years after a drunk driver killed a College of Charleston graduate and injured her passenger, a newly ordered settlement is bringing an end to the plaintiffs’ pursuit to hold multiple parties accountable.
Jennifer Anne Demyan, 23, was driving on Interstate 26 eastbound near the Dorchester Road exit when she was rear-ended just before 1 a.m. on Oct. 4, 2021. The impact caused her 2016 Nissan to veer off the road, down an embankment and crash violently, court records show.
Passenger Eric Harp was seriously injured in the collision. Demyan, the recent College of Charleston graduate, died from her injuries.
