The winners of this year’s Mayor’s Arts Awards were announced Monday evening during a ceremony at Memorial Hall, inside Kingston City Hall.
Le Centre culturel Frontenac, the city’s Francophone cultural hub that offers music, dance, theatre and comedy performances, was named the 2025 Arts Champion. The organization is also celebrating its 45th anniversary.
Three people were given “creator” awards: visual artist Aaron Forsyth, technician/performer Jesse MacMillan, and dancer, choreographer and educator Camille Spencer.
This year, there were 54 nominations and the winners were selected by a subcommittee of the Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee.
