Close to 30 people, along with their pets, were displaced Wednesday afternoon after a fire broke out inside one of the apartments above Suits Night Club along Montreal Street.
Kingston Fire and Rescue was called to the scene shortly before 3:30 p.m. Kingston Police were also called to the scene and assisted in blocking off a portion of Queen Street between Sydenham and Montreal streets.
Multiple teams of firefighters could be seen entering the building in full gear, later exiting covered in soot. Fans were also placed at the entrance of the building to help elevate the large amount of smoke that could be seen from blocks away.
Along Queen Street a ladder was leaned up against a window on the third floor. According to a couple of the tenants, the third floor is where the fire started. Ar
