An Ayrshire woman who suffered "10 years of hell" at the hands of her domestic abuser ex has hit out at the justice system after the thug avoided jail time. David Gillan, 29, pled guilty to domestic abuse offences against Shannon Muir, 27, between April 2019 and November 2024.

However, he avoided a prison sentence at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday, November 18. Instead he was sentenced to 225 hours of community service, Community Payback Order with 12 months supervision and a Non Harassment Order for a period of two years.
