Many people find that the great outdoors is the perfect place to spend their days. Activities run the gamut from hunting and fishing to hiking and camping. Plenty of other interests, such as birdwatching or mountain biking, also maximize time spent in the outdoors.

According to the “Outdoor Participation Trends Report” from the Outdoor Industry Association, gateway activities such as hiking, camping and fishing each gained more than two million new participants over the last year. There’s also been a surge in participation in such activities among seniors and youth, contributing to a more multigenerational outdoors experience. There’s also been participation growth among Black and Hispanic Americans, indicating long-term momentum toward equity and inclusion.
