BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KSLA) - A man from Benton and convicted sex offender is now facing new charges.
The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested James Felty, 33, a Tier 1 sex offender, who lives in the 100 block of Theresa Lane in Benton. The arrest was made as a result of an investigation that started in late October.
Officials say the investigation started when Felty was found to be in violation of his requirement to register as a sex offender. During the investigation, officials say they found 13 files on Felty’s cell phone containing child sex abuse materials.

Felty has now been charged with unlawful use of a social networking website. He was booked into Bossier Max; his bond was set at $650,000.
Officials are still looking into the case.
