HADLEY — Hopkins Academy is hosting a community fundraiser to support Jamaicans affected by Hurricane Melissa and who are in need of humanitarian aid.

The “Joining for Jamaica” event will be held on Dec. 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Hopkins Academy.

The event will include a buffet of free dishes that are traditionally served in the region, along with music.

Donations will go toward meeting the immediate needs of victims of the devastation in the Caribbean, who number over a million. All proceeds will be given to World Central Kitchen, a charity focused on helping those affected by humanitarian crises by providing necessary, fresh-cooked meals.

To date, World Central Kitchen and its partners have provided over 500 million meals to high-need communities across the world.
