FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A fire has gutted an abandoned building in central Fresno.

It started around 2 am Wednesday on Blackstone near Saginaw.

Crews arrived to find flames coming from the roof of the building.

The area was also gated and boarded up.

They took a defensive approach and fought the flames from the outside.

There is no word on what caused the fire or any reports of any injuries.

Southbound Blackstone near Saginaw was closed off while crews took on the blaze.
