GREENSBORO, N.C. — With dangerously cold temperatures on the way, the City of Greensboro is activating its White Flag Warming Centers starting Thanksgiving night and continuing through Saturday.
City officials say First Baptist Church, located at 1000 W. Friendly Avenue, will open its doors for overnight shelter beginning 8 p.m. Thursday, November 27, through 8 a.m. Friday, November 28. The church will open again Friday and Saturday nights from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., providing shelter through Sunday morning, November 30.
The warming center will be staffed by the City’s Community Safety Department, which is trained to support special populations and connect people with services as needed.
