PETERSBURG, Va. (WWBT) - A man was found guilty earlier this week of killing a Virginia State University student in 2023.

A Petersburg jury found Dejour Murphy guilty of first degree murder and four other charges in the shooting death of Adrionna Brooks West.

The shooting happened in the 700 Block of Halifax Street on Sept. 3, 2023.

West was a 20-year-old sophomore.

Murphy faces up to life in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 26.
