BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Bangor Police say a pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle while he was running after someone who had stolen from him.

Bangor Police say the incident happened just after 5:30 p.m., Wednesday near the intersection of Broadway and State Street.

Officials say the pedestrian was a 32-year-old man.

Police say the man was chasing another person across the road after that person had stolen items from him.

Authorities say the man was then hit by a vehicle.

They say he was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Police say there are no charges at this time.
