WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.(WLFI) - Lung cancer survivor Terri Ann DiJulio is raising awareness during lung cancer awareness month.

Lung cancer is a disease that runs in her family, but that was only found after her diagnosis.

"I have been diagnosed with lung cancer three times over the last 20 years," said DiJulio.

Including DiJulio, six people in her family have had lung cancer.

"I'm the only one in my generation, every one else is in my mother's generation. And early detection is key. Two of us were diagnosed at an early age and two of us are still alive," said DiJulio.

Her cancer was found early each time, but she says she didn't have symptoms. It was unrelated chest pains that brought her into the hospital the first time around and the cancer was discovered.
