The St. Tammany Parish Coroner has identified a woman who died from carbon monoxide poisoning earlier this week in Slidell.
The woman was identified as Kathleen Mitchell, 65, of Railroad Avenue in Slidell, according to Coroner Christopher Tape. Advertisement
Tape said Mitchell died of carbon monoxide poisoning, and her adult son was sickened by the gas but is expected to recover.
Mitchell's formal cause of death is pending toxicology reports.
The Slidell Fire Department confirmed that the death happened over the weekend.
When firefighters arrived at the home, they found two people unresponsive.
Firefighters entered the home, and within moments, they say their CO detectors on their medical bags began emitting an alarm.
