BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (WNDU) - Officials say a small plane flipped while making an emergency landing at Southwest Michigan Regional Airport on Wednesday morning, sending two people to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to airport officials, the plane had taken off from Dowagiac and was making its way to Canada when it experienced malfunctions during flight. It’s unclear at this time what those issues were or what caused them.
As the plane was making an emergency landing in Benton Harbor around 9:30 a.m., officials said the plane’s right wing hit the runway, causing it to flip over.
