CATTARAUGUS COUNTY, N.Y. — A New York State Police Bloodhound helped find a missing hunter in Cattaraugus County on Tuesday.
According to New York State Police , around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, troopers were called to the area of Hess Road in the town of Farmersville for a 65-year-old hunter who went missing.
In assistance with United States Border Patrol, NYS Forest Rangers, NYS ENCON, and Farmersville Fire Department, troopers say they began searching the wooded area. NYSP bloodhound K-9 Paris was able to track to an area where the hunter left his weapon and hunting vest.
After picking up a scent from the vest, Paris was able to locate the hunter less than 100 yards away from where it was found. He was later taken to Olean General Hospital for evaluation.
