ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Dozens of Buffalo Bills fans made time to give back in the middle of the pre-Thanksgiving rush, turning out for a ConnectLife blood drive at Highmark Stadium on Wednesday.
Fans and phlebotomists arrived dressed in Bills gear, adding a festive spirit to the lifesaving effort. Every donor received a pair of Bills-branded gloves and had the chance to win prizes including autographed memorabilia and tickets to the final game at the stadium.
The event, held inside the Toyota Club, came at a crucial moment for Western New York’s blood supply. With a winter storm approaching and the holiday weekend reducing the number of local blood drives, ConnectLife says the blood collected at this event will help ensure hospitals have what they need.
