GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - North Central Florida residents preparing for holiday travel are finding smoother conditions at Gainesville Regional Airport despite national warnings of delays and long lines during the busiest travel time of the year.
National authorities warned passengers they may see unusually long delays and lines, given the recent government shutdown and peak travel season, but Gainesville Regional Airport travelers say they are not experiencing such issues.
“Not in Gainesville, no. I would imagine in other bigger airports like Tampa, but Gainesville, look at it, it’s perfect, the day before Thanksgiving. It’s the place to fly into,” said Rebecca Provost, a Dunnellon resident.
