WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG) - One person died in a Waterloo apartment fire Wednesday morning.

At approximately 8:46 a.m., fire crews responded to 2958 Independence Avenue after the building owner reported the fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters found one person dead inside the apartment. The fire was contained to the single unit and no other injuries were reported.

The victim has not been identified at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.
