COLUMBIA, S.C. — People across the Midlands are busy preparing their holiday meals. But at Saint Peter Catholic Church, volunteers have been working since last week to get everything ready for the 35th annual Interfaith Dinner. Their behind-the-scenes effort reveals just how much work goes into feeding hundreds of people.

“Well the project takes about a week in advance because we cook 120 turkeys, that’s over 2,000 servings of turkey itself,” said Hal Lominick, coordinator of St. Vincent de Paul. Lominick has spent the last 25 years preparing turkeys for the Interfaith Dinner.

Head cook Steve Mullaney, who was out picking up last-minute items, explained how the weeklong preparation process works.
