Have a snowball fight with Buddy the Elf , sip hot chocolate and watch floats roll through streets aglow with holiday lights during the annual downtown Salem holiday parade the evening of Friday, Nov. 28.
The parade is returning for its fourth year, falling on Black Friday for the second time. Some 50 organizations will participate in the parade, joined by marching bands from North and McKay high schools and antique fire trucks brought by local fire departments. Afterwards, Salem Mayor Julie Hoy will assist in a tree lighting alongside Santa Claus.
