ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A 48-year-old man is in the Clayton County Jail after police said he opened the emergency door on a flight leaving Atlanta and heading to Amsterdam, all while the plane was moving.

On Wednesday, some passengers who were on KLM Flight 662 on Tuesday said they are exhausted after staying at the airport overnight.

One passenger said it was “chaotic and surreal.”

“It went so quickly, you don’t even have the time to be scared,” said Marrianne Bloemendal, who was heading home on flight 662 to Amsterdam.

She said another passenger went into a panic and started screaming.

“A passenger a few rows behind me started shouting, ‘There’s a gun on board, there’s a gun on board,” said Bloemendal.
