BILLINGS, Mont. – A small cafe's initiative in Billings has turned into a community-wide effort to help families in need this holiday season.
Oscar Dorantes and his mother, Cynthia Johnson, run the Stomping Grounds Book Cafe inside the Billings Library. They were inspired to take action after hearing about the struggles their customers face during the holiday season.
"I don't even know how, but it just kind of got out to a couple of people and said, Hey, I want to help. And before we knew it, we had a whole bunch of people raising their hands up saying, I want to help," said Dorantes.
"The amount of love that poured in when Oscar came up with this idea is overwhelming," said Johnson.
