As Mayor-elect Helena Moreno looks for ways to cut spending and generate money, an increase in sanitation fees could be on the table.

The signaling of tough financial decisions comes as the city is facing a multimillion-dollar deficit, and according to Moreno, adjusting the sanitation fee is on the table, considering it hasn't been touched since 2011.

"We're to the point where we absolutely need to figure out a path forward, increasing the sanitation fee," said Moreno.
