A mum and son said they 'couldn't believe' what they had been charged for an Uber journey that usually takes no more than ten minutes.
Jay Myers was travelling back to his home in Whitefield after visiting the Prestwich health centre, on November 14, and had initially tried to get a ride with a local taxi firm. But after being informed there was a small wait, he decided to give the online service a try.
The 33-year-old had been attending an appointment with is mother Rita, who is 62. And he told the Manchester Evening News he was initially quoted just over £12 for the two-mile trip.
He claims to have waited for more than an hour to get a taxi, before the usually ten-minute journey took half an hour. He was then charged three separate payments totalling £47.06.
