WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Black Friday arrives just as Thanksgiving wraps up, and shoppers heading to brick-and-mortar stores may see a busier scene than in recent years.

Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem expects more than 150,000 visitors for Black Friday. A spokesperson said November is typically one of its busiest shopping months, with about 600,000 visitors so far this year.

“We expect a really busy Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend,” marketing director Brad Gaither shared, "Foot traffic is up five percent from 2024."

One longtime tenant, The Cookie House , is also preparing for the rush. The small business has roots in the Triad dating back to 1975. It is increasing production of its high-demand cookies, including classic chocolate chip and pumpkin chocolate chip.
