Two young men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a 'brutal and barbaric' knife attack on a police officer. The incident occurred in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, when officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) were carrying out inquiries this morning (November 27).

During the arrest of a 21-year-old man, an officer suffered a stab wound to the leg. A second male, aged 20, was also apprehended at the property.
