GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Tom Hillen, co-host of WOOD-TV’s lifestyle show, “eightWest,” is thankful for his co-workers who provided life-saving CPR after he suffered a seizure and stopped breathing.
Hillen shared his story with viewers this week. In response, he has been overwhelmed by kindness and support.
“I just feel very loved right now,” Hillen, 38, told MLive/The Grand Rapids Press.
Hillen suffered the seizure Nov. 17 while at his computer in the eightWest office after the show. Co-workers Rachel Ruiz and Elisia Alonso heard a loud cry then helped Hillen to the ground.
Staff called 911 immediately.
“And then it kind of got scary,” Alonso said in a special feature that aired this week.
