A young driver trying to flee a street disturbance “panicked” and hit a woman standing directly in front of his car.
Brogan Lidster drove at the woman, flinging her to one side of the Audi car, but continued on his way to escape the scene as swiftly as possible.
Lidster denied responsibility until the day of his trial, on October 1, when he changed his plea to a charge of dangerous driving.
Cainan Lonsdale, prosecuting, told Durham Crown Court the victim of Lidster’s driving heard a commotion and a car being driven just outside her address, in Harle Street, Meadowfield, on April 4, 2022.
