An erratic driver was arrested last Thursday after multiple complaints were reported to the Weyburn Police Service.

Deputy Chief Shane St. John says this incident was far more severe than the recent uptick in erratic driving.

“Members were very busy that night. They were doing a really good job when this call came in to get to that and investigate it. They actually followed the sight and smell of smoke right back to where the residence was. [Based on] witness statements and observations from the public, the driving was absolutely unacceptable, very dangerous to the public at that time of day.”

The driver was arrested for Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and brought to the WPS. St. John says the extreme nature of the offence warranted more than just a ticket.
