BOISE, Idaho — As Idahoans across the Gem State are diving into their Thanksgiving dinners, the City of Boise is reminding residents about its food scrap drop-off program and composting to help with leftover waste.

The City of Boise said its program is open to residents living in apartments, condos, and other multi-family communities without curbside compost pickup. Residents can gather food scraps at home and drop them off at designated sites across the city.

Composting food scraps also saves landfill space, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and creates healthy soil, according to the city of Boise.
