SEDALIA, Mo. (KCTV) - A jail fire started by an inmate sent one deputy to the hospital and endangered others.
Pettis County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Wednesday, Nov. 26, indicate that Clinton W. Davis, 37, allegedly used electronic cigarette wires to ignite tissue paper and linens in his cell.
A probable cause statement from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the fire broke out around 9 p.m. on Nov. 16 in F Pod when Davis deliberately started the blaze.

When deputies opened Davis’ cell door, they said smoke poured into the hallway. Davis immediately attacked them and forced them to tase him twice.
