BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - The Hammond Street Congregational Church held a very special Thanksgiving feast for local community members.
The Free Community Thanksgiving Feast took place from 1 pm to 2 pm. The feast serves as a long-standing tradition from the church to provide Thanksgiving meals for zero charge.
All food was donated and prepared by members of the congregation, including 9 turkeys, 20 pies, and other fixings.
Organizers say the Thanksgiving feast helps to give people of all backgrounds a chance to share a meal with one another.
