Detectives are investigating a Serbian hitman in connection with the unsolved murder of Jill Dando, it has been reported. The Metropolitan Police has stated it is evaluating evidence uncovered during the Daily Mirror's investigation, which links Milorad Ulemek to Jill's 1999 shooting.

This includes a recently discovered photograph of the convicted double-murderer wearing an unusual tie claimed to match one worn by a man captured on CCTV who remains at large.

The Met stated: "No unsolved murder is ever closed and detectives are assessing this information to understand whether it's a new and realistic line of enquiry."
