Two men have been jailed for a combined total of nearly 50 years after unleashing a violent axe attack on a busy road.
Esmatullah Paktiawa and Dawood Khan forced their victims' car to stop on the A2 near Canterbury, Kent. Police found a man in his 20s, and another in his 30s, with serious head injuries including one who had been attacked with the weapon.
A third victim escaped unharmed and helped emergency crews in giving first aid. The trio, travelling in a white Seat, were targeted by the men who were in a silver Mercedes . Kent Police said further information pointed to the parties knowing each other.
Both men pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm with intent. Their trial, which lasted six weeks, ended when a jury found them guilty of attempte
