GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — One person was taken to a hospital early Friday morning after a fire started at a home in Grand Rapids.
The fire began around 1:11 a.m. at a home in the 1000 block of Evergreen Street SE. A 911 caller reported seeing flames coming from the second story.
Fire crews responding to the scene found flames coming from a second story window. Firefighters searched the building and quickly extinguished the flames, according to Grand Rapids Professional Firefighters Local 366.
A person had been trapped on the porch roof and was rescued by crews.
One person was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital for further evaluation.
The fire is under investigation.
