Foreign tourists will soon see a steep surcharge to visit some of America’s most popular national parks.
The Department of the Interior announced the new “America-first pricing” model for national parks Tuesday, which will charge nonresidents as much as $100 extra per visit. Annual federal lands passes will also see a $170 surcharge for international visitors.
New prices will take effect Jan. 1, 2026.
“President Trump’s leadership always puts American families first,” Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum said in a news release. “These policies ensure that U.S. taxpayers, who already support the National Park System, continue to enjoy affordable access, while international visitors contribute their fair share to maintaining and improving our parks for future generations.”
