A major beauty retailer has closed down its store on Aberdeen's Union Street ahead of the busy festive shopping period.

Sally Beauty , situated on the corner of Bridge Street, was shuttered for good on Wednesday (November 26) just weeks before Christmas.

It leaves the Granite City with just one Sally Beauty branch along the nearby Willowbank Road , with customers advised of their nearest store following the latest closure.

Shoppers were informed of the store's closure by signage on the shopfront, with the hair and beauty brand having shut sites near Manchester, Bristol and Southampton earlier this year.

The brand currently boasts more than 4,000 shops across the globe. It is currently unknown why the chain has opted to close its Granite Mile shop.
